The year of the comedy has continued as 2 Broke Girls becomes the fourth sitcom in this young season to be given a full season order.
The CBS Monday hit had a stellar premiere airing after the huge season premiere of Two and a Half Men. It's 19.4 million viewers and 7.1 demo was the best series premiere for a comedy since Inside Schwartz way back in 2001. It obviously experienced a drop in its second week when it moved to 8:30pm but it still registered a very strong 11.8 million viewers and 4.6 demo and it followed that up with only a slight dip in Week 3. Viewers appear to have liked what they seen and it seems to be the best fit in CBS's Monday lineup in awhile. Many think it might become an anchor if CBS decides to go with two hours of comedy on both Mondays and Thursdays down the road. Through three episodes, 2 Broke Girls has averaged 14.2 million viewers and a 5.3 demo.
This is certainly been a great year for sitcoms with New Girl, Up All Night, and Whitney already receiving full season order. Suburgatory might be close behind as well. CBS's other new comedy though - How to Be a Gentleman - is not likely to join the club.
