It's been awhile since I've done a Weekend Rewind so I'm going to try to do some countdowns of Holiday episodes again this year since the last time I did it was the 2010-11 season and I've seen a lot more TV since then! So here are my Top 10 Halloween episodes! I did not include Haunted episodes as I did last time , this is purely Halloween episodes. Hawaii Five-0 Theme ( Hawaii Five-0, 1968-1980) So I was worried this was going to happen and it did, I accidentally was left with 11 songs instead of 10 for the top 10. So rather than changing every single list, I'm just making two number tens! Hawaii Five-O has a great intensity to it and it not only became a theme song classic, but a marching band classic as well. Who can resist the pounding drums and thrilling theme. CBS very wisely kept the theme song for the reboot that launched in 2010. It wouldn't be Hawaii Five-0 without it. 10 TIE. St. Elsewhere Theme ( St. Elsewhere, 1982-1988) A classic theme song from the 1980s, St. Elsewhere had a charming feel with its simple theme song. Get Smart Theme ( Get Smart, 1965-1970) A very recognizable theme, Get Smart was a spoof of the very popular spy genre in the 1960s and the theme song reflects that. The show and its theme song are overly dramatic in a tongue-and-cheek, satirical way. Yet it still has a sense of excitement and intensity that was another part of the show. And of course it has an excellent title sequence too including all the contraptions Max must get through to get to CONTROL. 19. "As Days Go By" ( Family Matters, 1989-1998) Another song that trumps the show itself, Family Matters was a shrill show that made Urkel a household name. But it was originally intended to be less about Urkel and more about a family and I think the theme song reflects the original intent of the show. "That 70s Song" ( That 70s Show, 1998-2006) That 70s Show is not an award winning sitcom but it is a lot of fun and the theme song reflects that. It's always fun when the cast sings the theme song as it plays and that was the case here with the ever changing combinations driving in the car. The version by Cheap Trick that I put here aired for the majority of the series and was far superior to the season 1 version. This is one of the more recent shows to have a theme song longer than a few seconds. It's a complete shame that there isn't more on TV today, what would it hurt? 29. The Munsters Theme ( The Munsters, 1964-1966) Of the two 1960s spooky shows, The Addams Family has the much more recognizable theme but I would argue that its actually The Munsters with the better theme song. The Donna Reed Show Theme ( The Donna Reed Show, 1958-1966) No other theme song better captured the innocent and sweet era of sitcoms that The Donna Reed Show is from. With a pleasant, orchestral number, the theme song was as squeaky clean as the show itself. The song and accompanying credits reflect a bygone era as the housewife in pearls readies everybody for their day. There were many shows in this category in the 50s but none had a theme song that matched the genre as well. 39. Mission: Impossible Theme ( Mission: Impossible, 1966-1973) One of the most famous theme songs, the Mission: Impossible theme delivered intensity and suspense that the show would follow up with. It has been redone many times by the remade series in the 80s, the hit movie franchise starring Tom Cruise, and countless marching bands. I am starting a new topic for the Weekend Rewind - my all time favorite theme songs. This week, check out #50-#41. Please keep in mind that I eliminated shows that used songs that were not made famous by the series (such as The Wonder Years or Parenthood ). Here we go! 50. Hey Arnold! Theme Song ( Hey Arnold, 1996-2004) Hey Arnold wasn't quite like any other cartoon from the heyday of Nicktoons back in the mid 1990s. It had an edge to it that was exemplified in the jazzy, street smart theme song. Jazzy themes are always a good way to go and this is one of the best. The wacky street gang that Arnold marches along with and Helga's incessant "Hey Arnold" served as a great intro to a classic Nicktoon. "Move it football head!" 49. Petticoat Junction Theme ( Petticoat Junction , 1963-1970) The relaxing, less crazed of the two Hooterville shows also had the better theme song despite Green Acres ' theme being much more famous. Here we are at the last Weekend Rewind looking at the best shows from each decade. If you want to look back, check out my top shows from the 60s , 70s , 80s , and 90s . Every other decade was all about sitcoms for me, but as you'll see, many dramas made the list for the 2000s. Close Calls: That 70s Show (1998-2006), 8 Simple Rules (2002-2005), Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006-2007) 10. Criminal Minds (2005-present) The 2000s had many procedural dramas and to many, this is not one of the best ones. But it is one of my favorites. It's exceedingly dark and twisted yet it does one of the better jobs of keeping suspense and intensity as other procedurals can really drag. By focusing on serial killers, the show can really delve into psychological darkness. Plus, unlike other procedurals, the show wisely does not focus too much on the personal life of the team though the team is appealing enough to enjoy some stories.
