It's the week before Upfronts and that means we're going to get lots of news in the coming days about pilot pickups. FOX made an official announcement today about a show we all knew was getting picked up: Gotham. Set in the DC Comics world and featuring a young Commissioner Gorodn, this is FOX's answer to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It has been a foregone conclusion for weeks and already has a page on the FOX website. FOX is likely to give this a prime slot and I'm guessing that will happen in the fall.
FOX will have less pickups than usual thanks to their new organization of pilots and the many that are already picked up to series including Hieroglyph, Backstrom, Last Man on Earth, and Mulaney. The other two drama pilots left in contention: Red Band Society and Empire are both likely pickups.
