With a couple series still hanging in the balance, CBS announced it has renewed Life in Pieces. It is the first single-camera comedy to get a renewal on CBS since Brooklyn Bridge did in 1992-93. Life in Pieces got the coveted post-Big Bang Theory slot on both Mondays and Thursdays this year. Its retention out of Big Bang was not impressive by any means but it showed its strength in the weeks where it followed a Big Bang repeat and did nearly as well. That showed it has its own audience and probably solidified its chances. However, I doubt it will return to the post-Big Bang slot.
Still on the bubble for CBS is CSI: Cyber, Code Black, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Limitless, The Odd Couple, Rush Hour, and Supergirl. Supergirl may fly over to the CW while Rush Hour is pretty much dead. Everything else still has a real chance.
