ABC was all new on the first night of the summer season. At 8pm, the series premiere of Duets got off to a very mediocre start. With so many singing competitions declining, it looks like audiences are having too much of it and this one will not be the next big thing. At 10pm, the season premiere of Rookie Blue did decently for a scripted summer show. FOX aired the season premiere of So You Think You Can Dance which did alright and skewed fairly young. It definitely got the better of Duets. On NBC, the series finale of the cancelled Awake was up eight tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo.
