The second casualty of the young season was, like Lone Star, pulled after two low-rated episodes. This time the victim is My Generation. The faux documentary focusing on nine kids from a Texas high school in 2000 and ten years later was mostly panned critically and viewers didn't buy it either. It debuted with a low 5.2 million viewers and dropped this week to 3.8 million.
Unlike Lone Star, I have no remorse over this news. It was the worst pilot of the entire fall. Horribly cliche, badly written, poorly acted - this one had "early cancellation" written all over it. This is the third new ABC series in this timeslot to get cancelled in the last year following FlashForward and The Deep End last season. Maybe they should try Secret Millionaire, originally schedule for Fridays at 8pm? They may need to move in a game show direction because scripted programming is failing here.
