During the winter TCA press tour, FOX president Kevin Reilly confirmed what most of us assumed anyway - Allen Gregory has been cancelled. The Jonah Hill cartoon was very low-rated in its seven episode run in FOX's Animation Domination block. It had a very different brand of humor than the surrounding shows and could not find an audience. FOX has many other toons anyway with Napoleon Dynamite launching next week, Bob's Burgers returning, and the reboot of The Flintstones coming next season as well as the existing The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, American Dad!, and Family Guy. In its seven episode season, Allen Gregory averaged a low 4.2 million viewers and a 2.0 in the demo.
This news came alongside uncertainty for many other FOX shows including Glee, Terra Nova, and the long-running House, Fringe, and Bones. Based on Reilly's comments and my own educated guesses, I think we see Glee and Bones return (neither would be surprising) while House and Fringe end their runs. I still don't know about Terra Nova, I think that's anyone's guess.
