ABC was all new on Friday night with its low-rated unscripted fare. At 8pm, Supernanny was dead even with last week and will end its long run next week. At 9pm, Primetime: What Would You Do? was up seven tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo, rebounding a bit from last week's low. Finally at 10pm, 20/20 was up a solid 1.1 million viewers and three tenths in the demo. Overall, it was a better night but ABC needs to figure out something different here.

CBS was all new and had solid numbers by Friday standards. At 8pm, the season (and likely series) finale of The Defenders was down two tenths in viewers and the demo from last week. It had a respectable Friday night run, but CBS has too many dramas in its arsenal for this show to earn a renewal. New drama Chaos begins here on April 1. At 9pm, CSI: NY was down three tenths in viewers but up a tenth in the demo from its last new airing two weeks ago. This show is on the bubble but could anything do much better on Friday nights? Finally at 10pm, Blue Bloods was down a tenth in viewers but also up a tenth in the demo from its last new airing. It should be a sure thing for a renewal.

NBC started things off with a low-rated repeat of Who Do You Think You Are? and that was followed by Dateline NBC which was down just a tenth in viewers and the demo as the veteran newsmagazine has perked up nicely this spring after a very low-rated fall. FOX had its regular lineup again after a week off. At 8pm, Kitchen Nightmares was up four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo but Fringe was down four tenths in viewers for a season low and even in the demo. Nightmares will probably get renewed as a cheap option but Fringe is definitely on the bubble.
