FOX dished out some surprising news on Friday by renewing Glee not for one more season but for TWO more seasons. Despite being one of the few FOX shows without its fate determined before today, most people fully expected Glee to get renewed for next year. However, getting renewed for two more years is very surprising. The once mighty Glee has been getting modest ratings on Thursday night but FOX must have faith that it won't continue its free fall. It also makes FOX a lot of money in other areas thanks to the music and marketing component.
With this renewal, only a few shows do not have their fates officially determined: American Idol, The Cleveland Show, Cops, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and Touch. Idol, Cops, Hell's, and Nightmares are certainly going to get renewed in one capacity or another while Touch is a goner. There were reports earlier this week that The Cleveland Show has been cancelled but FOX has yet to confirm that. Still, with how much time animated shows need to prepare an episode, no news is not good news for Cleveland.
