It was the beginning of May Sweeps Thursday night. However, the NFL Draft moving to Thursday night in recent years has been hard on the broadcast networks and that was true again this year as almost everything was down, particularly male-skewing shows. ABC was the least affected as it had the most female skewing lineup. At 8pm, Wife Swap was down 1.2 million viewers and four tenths in the demo which was rough but the dramas held up well. At 9pm, Grey's Anatomy was down four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo, one of the smaller drops on the night. The only show to buck the Draft was sophomore darling Scandal which was down a tenth in viewers but up two tenths in the demo to tie a series high. It also beat Grey's Anatomy in the demo for the first time ever. In fact, I'm not sure a 10pm ABC show has EVER topped Grey's. Scandal is continuing to soar.

CBS was hit the hardest by the Draft. At 8pm, The Big Bang Theory was down a big 2.1 million viewers. The just-renewed Two and a Half Men was pulverized by the Draft, which is not surprising considering it probably was the most male-skewing show on Thursday night. It was down  2.4 million viewers and a mammoth 1.1 demo points for a series low. I'm sure it will rebound next week. At 9pm, Person of Interest was down 1.4 million viewers and three tenths in the demo, tying the series low it set during last year's Draft. Hmmm I see a trend. At 10pm, Elementary was down four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo as the 10pm hour was the least affected. That is a series low for Elementary though.
and seven tenths in the demo, tying a season low it set in October.

NBC was not competitive. At 8pm, Community was down eight tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo, tying a series low. After a repeat of The Office, the first of the final four episodes of The Office was down half a million viewers and two tenths in the demo for a series low. It's not exactly sprinting towards the finish line. At 9:30pm, Parks and Recreation was down seven tenths in viewers and four tenths in the demo from last week's 9:30pm episode for a series low. At 10pm, the wheels came off for Hannibal against new competition as it fell 1.1 million viewers and a rough four tenths in the demo. Yikes, four series lows for NBC. Finally on FOX, American Idol was down a million viewers and two tenths in the demo while Glee was down nine tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo.
