On Monday night, The Voice continued its ascent as it was up half a million viewers and two tenths in the demo for a new season high. In past seasons, the show would start to drop after the blind auditions were over. Now it is rising as the battle rounds begin and it is clearly the most dominant show on TV right now. NBC was the only network to preempt its regular primetime broadcasting to cover the tragedy at the Boston Marathon. A news special at 10pm preempted Revolution which will now have its season finale pushed back a week to June 3. On FOX, Bones was down half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo from its last airing while The Following was up a tenth in viewers but down a tenth in the demo for a series low.

CBS had a rough night. The best performance came from How I Met Your Mother which was down four tenths in viewers and even in the demo. It easily beat 2 Broke Girls for the top CBS demo draw. At 8:30pm, Rules of Engagement was down two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. At 9pm, 2 Broke Girls tumbled 1.3 million viewers and six tenths in the demo for a series low. Things seem to be getting worse and worse for this show as a 9pm anchor as the season has gone on. At 9:30pm, Mike & Molly was down 1.2 million viewers and four tenths in the demo. CBS needs to think about restructuring its Monday comedy block next year. At 10pm, Hawaii Five-0 was down nine tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo to tie its series low. Finally on ABC, Dancing with the Stars was up two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo while Castle was down 1.6 million viewers and two tenths in the demo from its last new episode.
