It's been awhile, but Good Week/Bad Week is back!
GOOD WEEK: "BONES"
FOX is really low on successful dramas - House is ending its long run this year, Terra Nova, The Finder and Alcatraz are dead or basically dead, and Touch is falling after a promising debut. But the long running Bones may be their only anchor drama left and it helped cool FOX's concerns with a promising Monday debut on the heels of an official renewal for next season. Despite airing against powerhouses Dancing with the Stars and The Voice, Bones came back to a decent 8.4 million viewers and 2.5 demo which is not much lower than it was getting after The X-Factor in the fall. I fully expect it to occupy the Monday 8pm slot in the fall as well.
BAD WEEK: NBC THURSDAY
NBC is in disastrous shape every night of the week except Monday but Thursday is perhaps the saddest showing. This past week, with the fading The Office in repeats again, no show got above a 1.3 or three million viewers. So-called "cult" hits 30 Rock and Community continue to reach new lows while Up All Night has crashed and burned on Thursdays and new series Awake is making the numbers for Prime Suspect look great. NBC should really clean house in the fall and get rid of some of this dead weight. Yet, I think we'll see both 30 Rock and Community back as well as The Office and Parks and Recreation. And maybe next spring, we'll see even lower results.
