RENEWAL ALERT: The Bachelor

In an unsurprising move, ABC has renewed The Bachelor for another season. The show will presumably take the place of Dancing with the Stars next winter again, airing from January-March. The renewal will be for the show's (gasp) 16th edition. The show which seems to never die has once again been an solid filler for Dancing with the Stars this winter, averaging 9.6 million viewers and a 3.1 in the demo. The season finale aired tonight and will certainly hit season highs when the numbers come out.

The Bachelor joins Castle, Cougar Town, Grey's Anatomy, The Middle, Modern Family, and Private Practice among official renewals for next season. Sure to join them are Dancing with the Stars, Wipeout, Primetime: What Would You Do?, 20/20, America's Funniest Home Videos, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Secret Millionaire, and Desperate Housewives. On the bubble shows include V, Mr. Sunshine, Better With You, Off the Map, and Brothers & Sisters while it's not looking good for No Ordinary Family and Detroit 1-8-7. Still to debut is Body of Proof and Happy Endings.
