On Monday night, Supergirl on CBS got a big boost with some basketball promotion and its crossover with The Flash. It was up 1.2 million viewers and a strong four tenths in the demo for its best performance since February 8. It also boosted Scorpion a bit, which was even in viewers but up a tenth in the demo. At 10pm, NCIS: Los Angeles was up a tenth in viewers and down a tenth in the demo. On ABC, Dancing with the Stars was down half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo from last week's premiere. On NBC, both shows managed to stop the bleeding with The Voice up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo and Blindspot finally stopping its steady downward spiral by rising a tenth in viewers and the demo. Finally on FOX, Gotham was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo while Lucifer was even in both categories. These two shows have been a good match for each other.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Supergirl (CBS)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS)

On Easter Sunday, NBC's lineup took a major dip. It could be due to the holiday and not a trend, but we'll see. It's not too surprising that Little Big Shots took a dip as the casual family audience it aims for was probably quite preoccupied. Still, it fell a rough 2.7 million viewers and seven tenths in the demo. Next week will be much more telling. It took the comedies down with it as The Carmichael Show fell seven tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo and Crowded was down three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. Only Hollywood Game Night was steady as it stayed at its series low in the demo and was also even in viewers.

On ABC, everything inched down again to more new lows. Once Upon a Time and The Family were both even in viewers and down a tenth in the demo while Quantico was down a tenth in both categories. This drop for Quantico means every new show for ABC except the recently launched The Real O'Neals and The Catch has dipped below a 1.0 in the demo. And it probably won't be long before the other two newbies do. Finally on CBS, 60 Minutes did not have a basketball lead-in and was down 2.8 million viewers and seven tenths in the demo. Madam Secretary was down nine tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo for series lows. The Good Wife was down six tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo while Elementary was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo despite starting 35 minutes earlier than last week.

On Friday night, FOX was anemic as usual. Sleepy Hollow was down three tenths in viewers and a tenths in the demo. There is no way FOX can renew this show. It led into the season (and most certainly series) finale of Second Chance, which was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Hell's Kitchen returns to this slot next week. On NBC, Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. This is not worse than the likely more expensive Undateable. At 9pm, Grimm was up a tenth in viewers but down a tenth in the demo. Dateline NBC closed out the night down two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Its 1.0 demo was tops of the night among scripted programming. Elsewhere, CBS had basketball coverage again while ABC was only new with 20/20 and it was down four tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo.

On Thursday night, ABC had a new addition to the TGIT lineup but the results were disappointing. What wasn't disappointing, as usual, was Grey's Anatomy which continues to defy all sorts of problems broadcast shows are having. It was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. At 9pm, Scandal was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. Then the new Shondaland show, The Catch, premiered to a pretty weak 5.9 million viewers and 1.2 demo. It couldn't even hit the series low 1.4 demo that How to Get Away with Murder was getting recently. Some are comparing this performance to Scandal, which premiered to modest numbers late in the 2011-12 season. Scandal managed to hold mostly steady in its short season one before catching fire in season two. I don't see that happening with The Catch though. It will be lucky to get a season two. This is really a reflection of TGIT and its downward spiral (minus Grey's, of course). A year ago, The Catch probably would have premiered to a demo that was twice as good if not more. Elsewhere, CBS had basketball while NBC had You, Me, and the Apocalypse down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo and Shades of Blue even in both categories for its fifth straight 1.0 demo. Finally on FOX, American Idol was down two tenths in viewers and even in the demo.

RENEWAL ALERT: NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Los Angeles, Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Elementary, Scorpion, 2 Broke Girls, Mom, Survivor, The Amazing Race

CBS handed out a flurry of renewals today to veteran shows, joining The Big Bang Theory and NCIS, which were already renewed for 2016-17.

Now on the renewal list is dramas NCIS: New Orleans (season 3), NCIS: Los Angeles (season 8), Blue Bloods (season 7), Hawaii Five-0 (season 7), Madam Secretary (season 3), Elementary (season 5), and Scorpion (season 3). Of those dramas, only Hawaii Five-0 and Elementary seemed to possibly be on the bubble but they are part of the CBS syndication factory so the renewal was never much in doubt. Also renewed were comedies 2 Broke Girls (season 6) and Mom (season 4) and long time reality shows Survivor (33rd/34th editions) and The Amazing Race (29th/30th editions).

More notable is what was missing from the CBS renewal list: veteran Criminal Minds, bubble show CSI: Cyber, and all their freshman shows: Supergirl, Limitless, Code Black, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and Life in Pieces. Les Moonves hinted most of the freshmen will come back and Minds will certainly return unless there are contractual breakdowns. It always seems to go down to the wire for that show. Cyber could go either way: it's ratings aren't very strong but it's a better international player for CBS and part of a long time hit franchise for CBS.

RENEWAL ALERT: Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Man on Earth

FOX renewed two of its many bubble comedies today, handing out a fourth season to Brooklyn Nine-Nine and a third season to The Last Man on Earth. Both shows were part of the Sunday lineup in the fall before being sent elsewhere for Bordertown and Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life. Brooklyn was moved to Tuesdays at 9pm where it has struggled in a weak comedy lineup. It also seems to have lost some of its early critical buzz. However, it proved its worth after how weak Cooper was in its place on Sundays. Speaking of showing its worth, The Last Man on Earth was brought back to Sundays at 9:30pm sooner than planned thanks to Bordertown tanking. Both these shows have small ratings but FOX found out that it could be a whole lot worse.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Last Man on Earth join Bob's Burgers, Bones, Empire, Gotham, Scream Queens, and The Simpsons on the renewal list for next year. New Girl is sure to join while Grandfathered stands a better chance than The Grinder. Cooper Barrett and Bordertown are as good as done.

9:00 Hell's Kitchen

On the last Wednesday before Empire returns, Heartbeat made its time period debut for NBC and it was below anything The Mysteries of Laura has done in this slot all season. The fact that Laura is on the bubble probably means Heartbeat doesn't stand a chance. Later in the night, Law & Order: SVU was down eight tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo while Chicago PD was down nine tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. CBS had a good night starting with Survivor, which was down two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. A big episode of Criminal Minds boosted the show to season highs as it rose 1.1 million viewers and a strong three tenths in the demo. Despite the much bigger lead-in, the new spinoff Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders was down 1.1 million viewers and a tenth in the demo. In most circumstances, that's not a bad week two drop but this is more unimpressive because of how strong Minds was this week and that won't be the norm, especially with Empire returning next week.

On FOX, Rosewood was even in viewers and up a tenth in the demo. It will get to lead-in to Empire again next week but I'm pretty sure this has been exposed as a fraud at this point. I'm not even convinced it can get back its early season mojo with Empire back. If it does, I'm not convinced it has a chance anyway. At 9pm, Hell's Kitchen was down a tenth in viewers and up a tenth in the demo. Because it gets jerked around the lineup so much, it returns to Fridays at 9pm next week. Finally on ABC, it was a pretty steady night with every show except Modern Family even in the demo. Family was down a tenth from last week. Among total viewers, The Middle and The Goldbergs were even, Modern Family was down four tenths, and Black-ish and Nashville were down a tenth.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Criminal Minds (CBS)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Heartbeat (NBC)

On Tuesday night, The Voice on NBC moved to an hour and felt the effects as it dropped four tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. It led into yet another preview of a new show. This time, it was Heartbeat which didn't get much of a sampling and will likely struggle in its Wednesday 8pm slot. On CBS, NCIS managed to stay at that 2.0 demo threshold yet again as it was up eight tenths in viewers and even in the demo. It has still never gone below a 2.0 demo, but that seems inevitable at some point before the end of the season. At 9pm, NCIS: New Orleans was up a nice 1.4 million viewers and two tenths in the demo as it benefited from not having The Voice in the hour and it won't have it for the rest of the season. At 10pm, Limitless was up a million viewers and two tenths in the demo for its best performance in over a month. We'll see how it does when a new Chicago Fire comes back to the timeslot, however.

On ABC, Fresh Off the Boat remained the lone bright spot for ABC, rising half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo. At 8:30pm, The Real O'Neals was up three tenths in viewers and even in the demo. It has at least been steady since it started on Tuesdays. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is looking pretty pathetic. It was even in viewers and down a tenth in the demo for another series low. It's not much better than Agent Carter at this point. A repeat of Beyond the Tank was not much better than the cancelled Of Kings and Prophets, but it might do better when it has some promotion for airing new episodes. Only New Girl was new for FOX and it was even with last week.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: NCIS: New Orleans (CBS)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC)

Viewers: 3.8 million, 18-49 demo: 1.2

On Monday night, Dancing with the Stars returned to the lineup for ABC and, as expected, it skewed older than The Bachelor with a much higher total viewer count and much lower demo result. It came in below its fall premiere but in line with much of its fall performance. At 10pm, Castle was up eight tenths in viewers and even in the demo. The chief rival to Dancing, The Voice, was down 1.3 million viewers and two tenths in the demo. Not surprisingly, it took a bigger hit in total viewers. It led into Blindspot, which was down four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo for another series low. It has dropped a tenth in the demo every week since it came back from its hiatus... and the number it came back after the hiatus was disappointing! This show looks to be flaming out quickly.

On CBS, Supergirl was down half a million viewers and even in the demo while Scorpion inched down three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo, tying a series low. At 10pm, NCIS: Los Angeles was dead even with last week. This show has looked better as the season has gone on. Finally, FOX was pretty steady with last week. Gotham and Lucifer were both down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. They have proven to be pretty good companions and I think a renewal for Lucifer is imminent because it managed to hold on well with both The X-Files and Gotham as lead-ins.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Lucifer (FOX)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Blindspot (NBC)

On Sunday night, it was another strong week for Little Big Shots. The new hit was down 1.7 million viewers and two tenths in the demo but it still dominated the night. This is a huge success story for NBC, even the 7pm repeats are doing pretty well. It also might be a candidate for Thursday nights before football starts in November next season if NBC wants it to come back before next winter on Sundays after football season. At 9pm, The Carmichael Show was down 1.4 million viewers and a tenth in the demo. Its retention in the demo was only 50% and total viewership was less than that. At 9:30pm, Crowded was pretty much dead on arrival in its new Sunday slot after OK sampling. It had only a 1.0 demo and didn't make any sort of case to get a shot at the 9pm slot. At 10pm, Hollywood Game Night was down half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo for a new series low.

On FOX, another live musical attempt less than two months after Grease Live did not get much attention though it was an improvement over the usual FOX Sunday lineup. Tyler Perry's The Passion Live is now the new low for a live musical though it was more of a narrow focus and production than the others on NBC and FOX. The CBS lineup got started over half an hour late thanks to a basketball overrun that was pretty strong. It helped 60 Minutes rise 1.5 million viewers and four tenths in the demo. Madam Secretary followed and was down eight tenths in viewers and even in the demo. The total viewer count is still pretty decent. The Good Wife was up eight tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. Elementary moved over to Sunday nights but got a raw deal as it had to start at 10:35pm and it ended up tying its series low from November. We'll see how it does when it starts at 10pm.

And finally, ABC's Sunday lineup is disintegrating. At 7pm, America's Funniest Home Videos was down four tenths in viewers and even in the demo. It was the most watched show in the lineup and tied for the best demo... yikes. At 8pm, Once Upon a Time continued to go down as it fell another eight tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo for a pretty ugly result. The Family has fallen off the map completely as it dropped nine tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. And Quantico, which was once a bright spot, fell another half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo. This entire lineup is very problematic.

On Thursday night, CBS had very little action from basketball but this has changed over the years because people are watching basketball on all different channels so it can't be a big draw on any one channel. On ABC, Grey's Anatomy continued to be a beast and had no problems with St. Patrick's Day or Daylight Savings. It was up three tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Scandal continued to lose steam as it was up three tenths in viewers but down a tenth in the demo to a new series low. Not only is this show dropping in the ratings, it seems to have lost all its buzz. At 10pm, the season finale of How to Get Away with Murder was up half a million viewers but even in the demo. Last year, it had double that for its season finale... a 2.8 demo. That's some major year-to-year erosion. On NBC, You, Me, and the Apocalypse was up six tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo while Shades of Blue was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Blue has held up very well with repeat lead-ins for several weeks. Finally on FOX, American Idol was up a tenth in viewers but down a tenth in the demo for a season low.

CANCELLATION ALERT: Of Kings and Prophets

After just two episodes, Of Kings and Prophets has been cancelled by ABC. First, it was delayed from a 10pm Sunday fall timeslot. Then, it got ABC's cursed Tuesday 10pm slot for midseason and premiered at an anemic 0.8 demo before collapsing to a 0.5 demo this week. It lasted even shorter than Wicked City did in the fall. So, two shows have lasted a total of 5 episodes in this slot. It must make ABC miss Forever from last year. It will be replaced by Beyond the Tank for the rest of the season.

This is just another Tuesday 10pm disaster for ABC. Since this blog started, I have seen Detroit 1-8-7, Body of Proof, Private Practice (at the end of its run), Lucky 7, Killer Women, Mind Games, Forever, Marvel's Agent Carter, Wicked City, and Of Kings and Prophets in this slot. And that's just the scripted shows. Only Body of Proof and (undeservedly) Marvel's Agent Carter lasted more than one season here and many of them have lasted just a couple weeks.

On Wednesday night, CBS had a series premiere that was modest but serviceable. First up, Survivor had a great night as it showed no signs of a Daylight Savings problem and was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. At 9pm, Criminal Minds was up half a million viewers and even in the demo. Will this have trouble like it did in the fall when Empire returns in two weeks? It led into the series premiere of the new spinoff series, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. It delivered an OK 8.9 million viewers and 1.6 demo. Retention was decent out of the mothership and it did do a tenth better in the demo than Code Black ever did. It depends on how it does in the weeks to come but I'd put its renewal chances slightly above 50% with this kind of start.

On ABC, The Middle had a rough night as it was down a tenth in viewers and two tenths in the demo from its last new airing three weeks ago. It was a good night for The Goldbergs, however. Though it was down a bit from its post-Oscars episode at 8pm, it was up from its last 8:30pm episode. It also had the most separation from The Middle since the season premiere. I think next season might be the year to move The Middle to Tuesdays and let The Goldbergs lead off on Wednesdays. At 9pm, Modern Family was down a tenth in viewers and the demo. Black-ish was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. Nashville returned from its long hiatus and was up a tenth in the demo for the fall finale, but still low at a 0.9 demo. Finally on FOX, Rosewood was even with last week while Hell's Kitchen was down two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo.

CANCELLATION ALERT: Person of Interest

Person of Interest got a long-delayed premiere date and cancellation announcement in the same day from CBS. The show will have its season premiere on May 3 and end its five season run on June 21 after double pumping episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays for May and June.

Person of Interest was a very hot pilot and new show in 2011. It came with high expectations and initially was underwhelming in the prime Thursday 9pm slot. However, it slowly caught on as the season went on and then it really made some noise in season two (it's best numbers of all time came in January of its second season). In 2013, it was moved to 10pm Tuesdays when CBS wanted to expand its Thursday comedy block to two hours. After two years on Tuesday with a big decline in 2014-15, it was held to midseason and saw its episode order cut to 13 so the writing was on the wall. It probably would have gotten more of a CBS syndication push had it been owned by the network and the fact that it wasn't didn't help matters.

I was a devout viewer of Person of Interest for its first three years (in fact, a highly publicized episode killing off Taraji P. Henson (pre-Cookie Lyon) was my #1 episode in 2013). But, soon after that great episode and arc, I lost interest. It got unnecessarily complicated and this was a show that I actually think could have benefited from keeping its procedural thread more regularly. Either way, I have fond memories of those first two and a half seasons and will probably watch them again at some point.

RENEWAL ALERT: Gotham

FOX announced today that Gotham has been renewed for a third season. The Batman prequel drama was a hot commodity in season one but it faded as it went on. Then this year, it returned to disappointing numbers but held steady for the most part through the fall. It returned from a winter hiatus to decent numbers but fell this week. Either way, with FOX's major problems on other nights (Tuesdays, Thursdays without American Idol, and Sundays to an extent), this is an OK performer that also gets solid delayed viewing numbers.

On Tuesday night, it was another preview night for NBC with new sitcom Crowded getting a preview after The Voice. First up, The Voice was down 2.3 million viewers and four tenths in the demo from last week, perhaps getting hit some by Daylight Savings. Then two episodes of Crowded aired and the results were not terrible. The 10pm episode delivered a 1.7 demo and the 10:30pm episode got a 1.4 demo. This at least gave it some sampling but its 9:30pm Sunday slot will be quite difficult so anything resembling promising might disappear quickly. On CBS it was a steady night. The 300th episode of NCIS was down three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo, NCIS: New Orleans was up three tenths in viewers and even in the demo, and Limitless was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo.

Meanwhile, Tuesdays continued to be complete disasters for ABC and FOX where nothing topped a 1.1 demo. Even the usually solid 8pm anchors could not stand tall this week. On ABC, Fresh Off the Boat was down a rough eight tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo. The demo is a new series low. It could only hold on so long. At 8:30pm, The Real O'Neals was down half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo. Retention was better this week but a 1.0 demo is nothing to brag about. It got even worse the rest of the night. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was down six tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo to a new series low. And Of Kings and Prophets fell off the map even at these low standards, tumbling nine tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo for a series low. Wicked City was pulled after a 0.4 demo so this could be curtains for this show. On FOX, New Girl ended its run of solid week.

On Monday night, The Bachelor ended its season up nicely to a season high and also up from last year's finale. This is an absolute beast that it is strong as ever in relative terms to today's ratings. It's had another fantastic season for ABC and is still a water cooler show. The "After the Final Rose" special delivered the best 10pm numbers ABC has seen in awhile. On NBC, The Voice inched past The Bachelor but it was close. It was down a million viewers and two tenths in the demo from last week. The Bachelor was also a beast compared to The Voice in younger demos. At 10pm, Blindspot was down another three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo for another series low. This is nowhere near the promising drama it was in the fall.

On CBS, Supergirl was hit by a double dose of The Bachelor and Daylight Savings, and it fell two tenths in viewers and the demo to a new series low. At 9pm, Scorpion was down two tenths in viewers and up a tenth in the demo. NCIS: Los Angeles was up nine tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo as it may have benefited from no Castle in the hour. Finally on FOX, Gotham was down half a million viewers and two tenths in the demo, tying series lows. After a couple good weeks back, this was a little more concerning. Lucifer's retention was even better, but it fell three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. I think a renewal is more likely by the week.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: The Bachelor (ABC)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Supergirl (CBS)

RENEWAL ALERT: Little Big Shots

In an unsurprising move, NBC has renewed Little Big Shots just two episodes (and one week) into its first season. The new unscripted show, hosted by Steve Harvey, has had a spectacular start. It followed up near 100% retention of The Voice in a preview last Tuesday with a truly amazing performance in its regular timeslot. It had 15 million viewers and a 2.8 demo, which was enough to make it the most watched show of the week. It appears that anything Steve Harvey is untouchable lately and this has the added bonus of Ellen DeGeneres behind it. It seems very likely to become a central show in NBC's expanding unscripted universe with The Voice, America's Got Talent, and football.

Sunday night marked the premiere of the new Sunday night lineup and it was a huge success story for NBC with the stunning start of Little Big Shots in its regular slot. After tremendous sampling on Tuesday, it grew in total viewers and was down just a tenth in the demo for the difficult Sunday 8pm slot. It delivered a shockingly good 15.0 million viewers and 2.8 demo. That makes it the most watched broadcast show of the week, more than The Big Bang Theory or The Voice. It's still early but this looks to potentially be the first massive hit on the broadcast networks this season. It has already been renewed for a second season. It led into The Carmichael Show at 9pm. While it delivered a new series high, retention was only at 50% in the demo and even less than that in viewers. Then a 9:30pm episode dropped from there. These would be acceptable NBC comedy numbers in most scenarios but the retention leaves a lot to be desired. At 10pm, Hollywood Game Night didn't do much, posting a series low in the demo.

Over on ABC, it was a steady night which I guess is OK, but last week was pretty troubling. America's Funniest Home Videos was down six tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo from its last airing three weeks ago. At 8pm, Once Upon a Time was up three tenths in viewers and even in the demo. At 9pm, The Family was up four tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Quantico finished the night up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. CBS aired the NCAA selection show for the first half hour and that led into 60 Minutes, which was down 2.7 million viewers and a tenth in the demo. Following a Scorpion repeat, the season finale of CSI: Cyber was up six tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo from last week. It doesn't seem likely to return, but I wouldn't completely rule it out.

Finally on FOX, Bordertown may have gotten a boost from the afternoon lineup as it rose half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo from its last airing, which was at 9:30pm. At 7:30pm, Bob's Burgers was down three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. At 8pm, The Simpsons was even with last week. With Bordertown sent to 7pm, Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life is the clear weak link. It was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. At 9pm, Family Guy was up three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. The Last Man on Earth ended the night down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. This may not be a hit, but Bordertown's performance in this slot makes you realize how much worse it could be.

Everything was new on Friday night and an odd thing happened with ABC. One week after being impressive surrounded by repeats, Dr. Ken fell when it had new shows around it. First up, Last Man Standing was down seven tenths in viewers and even in the demo from its last new airing. Dr. Ken had a better lead-in but fell three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo to a new series low. I'm not sure what happened here. At 9pm, Shark Tank was up two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo while 20/20 finished off the night up half a million viewers and two tenths in the demo.

On CBS, The Amazing Race was down three tenths in viewers and the demo despite also having more new programming on the night than last week. At 9pm, Hawaii Five-0 was down three tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Blue Bloods was down half a million viewers and even in the demo at 10pm. Both NBC and FOX were under the 1 demo all night. On NBC, Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon was down three tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Grimm was down four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo and Dateline NBC was down six tenths in viewers and even in the demo. On FOX, Sleepy Hollow was down a tenth in viewers and up a tenth in the demo while Second Chance was down three tenths in viewers and even in the demo.

On Thursday night, The Big Bang Theory was new again for CBS, but it broke its streak of six straight 3.8 demos. It was down 1.2 million viewers and three tenths in the demo for a series low. At 8:30pm, Life in Pieces was up two tenths in viewers and the demo with a Big Bang lead-in again. At 9pm, Mom was down a tenth in viewers and the demo from last week, despite a better lead-in. 2 Broke Girls was down two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. At 10pm, Elementary was down three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo in its final Thursday airing before it heads to Sunday on March 20. On FOX, American Idol went under a 2.0 demo for the first time this season, falling six tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo.

On ABC, Grey's Anatomy continued to roll as it was down just two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo and easily remained tops of the TGIT block. At 9pm, Scandal returned after a week off and was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. Last year, Scandal was way above Grey's and now it's way below it. A testament to Grey's, but also a huge problem for Scandal. At 10pm, How to Get Away with Murder was up three tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Finally on NBC, You, Me, and the Apocalypse was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo to start things off. After a repeat of Law & Order: SVU, Shades of Blue was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. It would be interesting to see how this show would do on the Wednesday lineup.

On Wednesday night, NBC had it regular "Best of the Blind Auditions" special of The Voice, which did well for general standards but below Voice standards. It led into a sneak preview of The Carmichael Show. Despite a lot of promotion, last summer's critical hit didn't make much noise with a mere 1.0 demo. Now, it heads to the difficult 9pm Sunday slot but it does get to follow the possible hit Little Big Shots. On ABC, the season finale of American Crime was up half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo. A third season seems unlikely but we'll see. On CBS, Survivor took a small hit from The Voice as it was down a tenth in viewers and the demo. Following a low rated Victoria's Secret special, CSI: Cyber was down seven tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo at 10pm. Finally on FOX, Rosewood was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo while Hell's Kitchen rebounded and was up four tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo.

It was a tale of two premieres on Tuesday night with Little Big Shots shining and Of Kings and Prophets bombing. On NBC, week two of Tuesday's The Voice was up 1.3 million viewers and a tenth in the demo. It led into a sneak preview of Little Big Shots and the new unscripted show was a smash success, delivering a stunning 12.8 million viewers and 2.9 demo. Steve Harvey continues to be a big draw (for some reason) and the show was very compatible with The Voice. Now it must head to Sundays, but this was a tremendous sampling. NBC has to be thrilled. Among series premieres this year, only Blindspot and Supergirl delivered better premieres. On FOX, only the first hour was new. New Girl was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo for Zooey Deschanel's return while Grandfathered was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo.

On ABC, Fresh Off the Boat was the lone bright spot, as usual. It was up three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo from its last airing two weeks ago. It definitely deserved its renewal. At 8:30pm, The Real O'Neals had its timeslot premiere and delivered a disappointing 1.1 demo. This isn't instant pull territory by any means but probably not enough to help it with ABC's deep comedy bench. At 9pm, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned to a new series low 1.1 demo. It was above recent Marvel's Agent Carter episodes, but disappointing for S.H.I.E.L.D. Then Kings premiered even weaker than Wicked City in the fall and that show got pulled after three airings. This is likely to be in the 0.5 demo range next week. Could it be two and done? Either way, it's an instant bomb for ABC. Finally on CBS, Limitless was the only new show and it was down half a million viewers and even in the demo.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Little Big Shots (NBC)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Of Kings and Prophets (ABC)
