RENEWAL ALERT: The Blacklist

NBC is continuing its early drama renewals for next season by renewing The Blacklist for a fourth season. The show, once the biggest new hit on TV, had a high profile Super Bowl lead-out slot followed by a move to Thursdays. However, since its move in February, NBC has been unable to find anything to air before or after the show that can make any sort of dent in the ratings. The closest thing NBC has found is the disappointing Heroes: Reborn while The Slap, Allegiance, and The Player quickly plunged below a 1.0 demo. Yet, The Blacklist has managed to continue to hover in the mid 1s in the demo and it has been a big DVR show. It's still getting lots of eyeballs, but most people are not watching in live these days. This might be a good candidate to move to 10pm Thursday next season. It's not able to be a lead-in and it would be an improvement in a troubled slot.

The Blacklist joins Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Blindspot as early drama renewals next season on NBC.
