The Thursday 8pm death slot for ABC struck once again as Zero Hour was cancelled after a mere three episodes. The show premiered on Valentine's Day to the lowest in-season demo premiere number ABC had ever seen. It then dropped to a 1.1 demo in week two and then a 1.0 demo last night which got it yanked. The show also had tepid reviews and very little buzz so ABC decided to cut its losses. It will be replaced by Shark Tank repeats and then eventually Celebrity Wife Swap. Zero Hour joins the very long list of ABC Thursday 8pm bombs in the last four seasons: FlashForward, The Deep End, My Generation, Charlie's Angels, Missing, and Last Resort. ABC needs to do something else here - counter-programming dramas against CBS and NBC's comedies and FOX's reality competitions isn't working.
Zero Hour joins Resort, 666 Park Avenue, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, and Private Practice on the cancellation pile for ABC. Nothing has been officially renewed but there are several sure things including 20/20, America's Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Castle, Dancing with the Stars, Grey's Anatomy, The Middle, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, Scandal, Shark Tank, and Suburgatory. Likely renewals include Last Man Standing, Nashville, and Revenge while Body of Proof, Happy Endings, The Neighbors, and The Taste are bubble shows. Still to premiere is Red Widow, How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life), and The Family Tools. I don't like the chances for Widow or Tools but Parents might survive.
