FALL PREVIEW: SUNDAY

SUNDAY OVERVIEW
Many predicted that there would be some overhaul on Sundays after numbers were falling but there's actually no new series launching in the fall. ABC and CBS opted to focus more on other nights, NBC will air football as usual, and FOX will keep its animated lineup. In addition to NBC changing schedules when football ends, expect more Sunday changes at midseason if ratings continue to drop.

ABC
7:00 America's Funniest Home Videos (22nd season)
8:00 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (8th season)
9:00 Desperate Housewives (7th season)
10:00 Brothers & Sisters (5th season)
ABC keeps its lineup completely intact even though some thought there would be a change at 8pm or 10pm or both. The long running America's Funniest Home Videos kicks things off at 7pm and is probably looking at third in viewers and the 18-49 demo, possibly fourth when the NFL runs late on FOX. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition follows at 8pm. It will probably take third in viewers and the demo as well. The long running Desperate Housewives is at 9pm and is still a force even though it is not nearly as dominant as it once was. However, with football and Undercover Boss to contend with, it may be looking at third in viewers and second in the demo, but it can move up a notch in each category when football ends. Brothers & Sisters surprisingly stays put at 10pm. It will probably continue to do about the same but CSI: Miami is tougher competition than Cold Case. Look for third in viewers and the demo during the fall.

CBS
7:00 60 Minutes (43rd season)
8:00 The Amazing Race (17th season)
9:00 Undercover Boss (2nd season)
10:00 CSI: Miami (9th season)
CBS dumped the long running Cold Case and instead transplanted CSI: Miami in the biggest Sunday move on any of the networks. The institution 60 Minutes returns at 7pm but will often start late due to NFL overrun. It will probably take second in viewers but could drop to third in the demo as it is very old-skewing. The Amazing Race follows at 8pm and should outperform ABC for second in viewers and the demo. The midseason hit Undercover Boss returns at 9pm. It was a smash after its premiere following the Super Bowl and the novelty hasn't worn thin yet. Expect second in viewers but it could drop to third in the demo to Desperate Housewives. CSI: Miami comes back a day from its Mondays slot but it should be an upgrade in ratings over Cold Case. It should take second in viewers and the demo and could very well move to first when football ends.

NBC
7:00 Football Night in America (5th season)
8:00 NFL Sunday Night Football
NBC was lucky to not have to worry about Sunday yet when overhauling their schedule. Football will continue to dominate. There are some marquee games and the NFL is more popular than ever. Expect easy wins in viewers and the demo for the fall but it will be interesting to see what NBC decides to do in the spring.

FOX
7:00 NFL Overrun/Animation Reruns
8:00 The Simpsons (22nd season)
8:30 The Cleveland Show (2nd season)
9:00 Family Guy (10th season)
9:30 American Dad! (6th season)
FOX keeps its animated lineup as it is for the fall and newcomer Bob's Burgers will join in the spring. All four shows seemed to wear down a bit last year and with football in the fall along with Undercover Boss, they may have a tough time. They have a loyal audience though so expect a strong fourth place finish for all shows with occasional chances to move up.
