The schedule on Tuesday night was completely different from usual thanks to the networks midterm election coverage. ABC started out with an expanded results edition of Dancing with the Stars which was up a million viewers and a tenth in the demo from last week despite airing an hour earlier. ABC should consider moving this back to 8pm in the spring edition. Their election coverage was tops in viewers but second in the demo among broadcast networks. Over on CBS, repeats of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles were strong, earning better numbers than many first-run shows get. But their election coverage (like their evening news) was stuck in third place.

NBC aired a shortened edition of The Biggest Loser which was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo from last week's 2 hour edition. NBC should definitely slim this down (pun intended) to an hour in the spring. NBC's election coverage was second in viewers but tops in the demo. Finally, FOX aired a repeat of Glee was down from the repeat that aired two weeks ago and their election coverage was in a very last place, though their sister cable channel FOX News easily won among cable networks.
