In this high-concept comedy, Kristen Bell is Eleanor Shellstrop, who is killed in a freak accident and discovers the unique afterlife situation where the cream of the crop go to the "good place" while the majority of people go to the "bad place" based on a calculation of their good and bad deeds. Last year was not my best year for predicting. I correctly guessed that Supergirl, Blindspot, Chicago Med, and Scream Queens would get renewed but I was too optimistic on The Muppets, Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, Grandfathered, and Minority Report . I correctly predicted that Blood & Oil, Wicked City, Angel From Hell, Limitless, Heroes: Reborn, The Player, Truth Be Told, and The Grinder would be cancelled but I mistakenly thought Dr. Ken, Quantico, Code Black, Life in Pieces, and Rosewood would also join that list. This year is a tough year to predict. I think there are very few sure bets & very few sure flops. Instead, there's a ton of shows that I think could go either way. As usual, America's Funniest Home Videos will lead off the night. At 8pm is Once Upon a Time , a show clearly on the downturn. I don't think this has many years left and I'd be really surprised if it's still airing in this slot in Fall 2017. I don't think they can give it another shot of life at this point and it may help bring down the night. At 9pm, Secrets and Lies returns after last being seen in Spring 2015.
