Because I wasn't a Game of Thrones watcher, I wasn't very familiar with Peter Dinklage's work (except for Elf and Wicked) when he appeared on The Lowdown. By the end of the episode, I wanted an entire buddy cop series starring him and Ethan Hawke. Playing frenemies, Dinklage and Hawke were electric on screen together. You got the sense that those two had been going at each other for years and Dinklage was the perfect foil. He was very funny in the role and matched Hawke's frenetic energy with a more hardened edge. I expect he will return for at least an episode in the second season and I can't wait for that to happen.

Thoughts on the Rest of the Nominees:
This is a strong category with a lot of great performances. I am not a fan of Paradise but the first episode, which focused almost exclusively on Shailene Woodley's Annie, was easily the best of the season. Colman Domingo had to carry the finale of Euphoria in many ways and was more than up to the task. There are always fun villains on Elsbeth but my favorite in the third season was Steve Buscemi's crossword puzzle killer. Mary McCormack was not in much of The Pitt but she really commanded the scenes she was in and I hope we see more of her in the third season. Bradley Whitford brought a fun, goofy energy to The Diplomat. Finally, two time winner Jamie Lee Curtis turned in another great and poignant performance on the fourth season of The Bear.

This week for my Top 10 Tuesday, I am counting down the Top 10 characters from the Emmy winning hit Modern Family ! 10. FRANK DUNPHY It was inspired casting to bring the late, great Fred Willard on board as Phil Dunphy's father, Frank. Ty Burrell's dopiness as Phil really seemed like it could have been inspired by Willard's brand of comedy. Frank wasn't in a ton of episodes but he makes the list over some actual series regulars because he never stopped being funny and always elevated any scene he was in. It was one of Willard's final recurring roles and he was the most memorable of the many Modern Family characters who turned up once in awhile. 9. LUKE DUNPHY I struggled with what to do about Luke, Manny and Alex for this list. All three became so insufferable by the end of the series, I was left with a really bad taste in my mouth. During the month of December, I will be looking back at the decade that was the 2010s on TV. I will be sharing my favorite sitcoms, dramas, the best episodes, the best performances and the worst shows of the decade. To be eligible for this list, a show had to air the majority of its episodes in the 2010s. However, for the rankings and determination, all episodes were taken into account, including ones that may have aired before 2010.
