Here's a look at Week #2 of the 2018-19 season!
ABC
ABC is coming off a pretty unimpressive premiere week highlighted by big declines for The Good Doctor (although it gained a lot in Live +3) and a disappointing debut for A Million Little Things. They are still holding off their Tuesday lineup due to the American Music Awards next week so they will double pump Dancing with the Stars again and try to get some more eyeballs to Million. Thursday has the Station 19 season premiere while Friday has the return of TGIF, but it will have to compete with FOX's potent comedy hour. Sunday brings a two hour premiere of Dancing with the Stars: Junior and the season premiere of Shark Tank. I'd expect another pretty bad week for ABC although if any show grows from last week, it could be The Good Doctor.

CBS
The winner for worst premiere week was CBS which had extremely underwhelming starts for Magnum P.I. and Murphy Brown. Who would have thought their biggest premiere going into the weekend would have been FBI? They even have to deal with The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon showing huge year to year declines which is especially odd for Big Bang and its final season. This week, they will premiere two new comedies in the 8pm hour and if they don't get off to an OK start, it could be an all fractional night for CBS though I think that won't actually happen this week. Murphy Brown could have a very rough second week as there was surely some curiosity tune-in even though the ratings didn't pop at all. Wednesday has the season premieres of SEAL Team and Criminal Minds while Sunday has the season premiere of Madam Secretary.

NBC
Undoubtedly, the winner of premiere week was NBC. Manifest was hot out of the gate, This is Us was the top rated show on TV, and New Amsterdam got off to a solid start. They also had a decent start for #OneChicago Wednesday and will bolster that this week with a crossover event. It will be very interesting to see how Manifest and New Amsterdam do in week two. Thursday has the season premieres of Superstore and Will & Grace as well as the timeslot premiere of I Feel Bad, which is the only disappointing premiere for NBC so far.

FOX
All things considered, FOX had a pretty decent premiere week. 9-1-1 is certainly improving Monday and The Resident held up OK. Empire and Star were solid as well. Tuesdays were a bust, but Fridays brought a huge pop with the FOX premiere of Last Man Standing delivering its best numbers for the show since November 2012. It obviously validated FOX's decision to bring the show back and helped The Cool Kids get off to the best comedy premiere of the season to date. Those were eye popping numbers especially in 2018 and after an overall disappointing premiere week for the broadcast networks. FOX has the NFL double header next weekend so the Sunday lineup should benefit.
