NBC announced today that they have renewed the other two Dick Wolf shows to go with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, which already received an order for next season.
Freshman success story Chicago Med earned a second season. The show premiered in November and has delivered strong ratings, even when it hasn't been a part of a crossover or followed The Voice. In fact, early returns make it seem like it might be more promising than Chicago PD. No wonder, NBC is looking at the possibility of Chicago Law. Also renewed was Law & Order: SVU for an impressive 18th season. This show seemed on the brink of death a couple years ago but the Dick Wolf empire and more engrossing storylines seem to have given it a new lease on life. It is closing in on the record for longest running drama, currently held by Gunsmoke and the original Law & Order at 20 seasons each.
