Most everything was down on Thursday night with the notable exception of one show. ABC's 12th year veteran Grey's Anatomy was up two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. It is continuing to be a rock solid show and I don't think it's gotten enough credit in a timeslot that was cursed for ABC for decades before it moved here last fall. At 9pm, Scandal was down seven tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. For a fourth week in a row, How to Get Away with Murder hit a new series low. It was down four tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. Though these shows aren't doing amazing, ABC Thursdays is one of only two non-football nights where each show is getting a 2.0 demo or above (the other is NBC Mondays). However, that could change soon with the way its going for Murder. On CBS, the Saints-Falcons game inched down to a new season low for Thursday Night Football. The less intriguing matchup and baseball competition on cable surely played a factor.
It was a rough night for the other two networks. On NBC, Heroes: Reborn was down four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. The bleeding has slowed a bit, but the nostalgia has worn off quickly as I thought it would. At 9pm, The Blacklist was down a tenth in viewers and the demo. It's too bad what's happened with The Blacklist. I truly believe there is still an audience there, it's clearly the best of the block. But airing on an island ever since it moved to Thursday has clearly taken its toll. At 10pm, the wheels are coming off for The Player. It was down four tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. Finally, FOX had some declines after a good second week for its lineup. Bones was down a tenth in viewers and two tenths in the demo. It's getting ugly for Sleepy Hollow, which was down three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. I don't see any scenario where this show returns for a fourth season.
WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Grey's Anatomy (ABC)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: The Player (NBC)
