Well, that didn't take long.
The ax has swung for the first time in 2013-14 and the show if Lucky 7, which has the unlucky distinction of being the first show cancelled. Lucky 7 premiered to DOA numbers of 4.4 million viewers and a 1.3 demo but then it really sealed its fate when it lost nearly half its audience in week two as it had 2.6 million viewers and a 0.7 demo. The Tuesday 10pm timeslot will be replaced by repeats of Scandal at least through the end of October. Lucky 7 is far from the only problem among ABC's new shows as Trophy Wife, Back in the Game, and Betrayal are all under a 2 demo while Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Goldbergs had big second week declines. Super Fun Night just started this week to good numbers while Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is the last ABC fall show, premiering next Thursday.
The first show cancelled each season since this blog started are:
2010-11: My Generation (FOX)
2011-12: The Playboy Club (NBC)
2012-13: Made in Jersey (FOX)
2013-14: Lucky 7 (ABC)
It's interesting to note that all four shows were dramas and there was one from each network. Looks like it's back to being FOX's turn next year!
