On Wednesday night, week two of American Idol was down 1.8 million viewers and half a demo point from last week's premiere. It wasn't a terrible drop but it remains down significantly year-to-year. Over on CBS, Criminal Minds was down eight tenths in viewers but up two tenths in the demo. At 10pm, CSI was up four tenths in viewers and a good three tenths in the demo, tying a season high. It will be interesting to see how it does when Chicago Fire is new again.
On ABC, The Middle started the night off up four tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo for its best demo since November 14. The Neighbors followed and was up three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo as it seems to be holding up ok against American Idol. At 9pm, Modern Family was down two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo despite the lead-ins being up. At 9:30pm, Suburgatory was even in viewers but down a tenth in the demo. One of the biggest disappointments of the season has been how poorly this show has done in a dream position after Modern Family. At 10pm, Nashville reversed some of its momentum as it was down a million viewers and three tenths in the demo.
