Wednesday night was an interesting night on NBC and FOX as night two of The Voice and the season premiere of The X Factor went head to head in the 8pm hour. Though both shows tied for the night because of Factor's 9pm hour, The Voice was the clear winner in the 8pm hour as Christina Aguilera's NBC hit easily outpaced new judge Britney Spears on FOX. Though The Voice was down overall from Monday, it actually did better in the 8pm hour (Mon's 9pm hour brought the average up) which bodes well for its future. As for The X Factor, all hope is not lost. The show spiked big in the 9pm hour when it didn't have to face The Voice. And as of now, it won't go head to head anymore with the show so it might be ok. Still, for Britney's first episode, this has to be considered disappointing. Elsewhere, NBC previewed the new sitcom Guys with Kids at 10pm and it did ok for a 10pm premiere - down from The New Normal's 10pm premiere on Monday but which a weaker lead-in. We'll see how things go with all these NBC sitcoms in a few weeks.
