On Monday night, NBC kicked off its fall season as it rolls out early premieres ahead of the official season start on September 24. At 8pm, the third edition (and first fall edition) of The Voice premiered to good numbers but numbers that were below last average, much less last year's inflated early episode results. If numbers settled here, that would be great but it probably won't when the competition gets stronger. Still, NBC needed a tentpole show and if it can stay above a 3.0 demo in the fall, it's worth the overexposure. At 10pm was a series premiere and sneak peek of The New Normal. It did ok for a 10pm sitcom but retention out of The Voice was really poor. Still, it was a last minute sneak peek edition. We'll see how it does on Tuesday night, but it wasn't a real promising start.
