On the last night before February sweeps, not much was new. American Idol was down another 1.2 million viewers and half a demo point. The veteran show is fading quickly this season and could be just with the other top shows instead of way beyond them by season's end. It still helped lead-out Mobbed see big growth from its last airing. Over on NBC, its Happy Hour comedies were back up in the demo but the competition was weak. Whitney was down a tenth in viewers but up three tenths in the demo while Are You There, Chelsea? was up two tenths in viewers and also three tenths in the demo. These shows needed to go back up but the competition will get stronger and it doesn't seem to be the start of a trend. Finally, CBS aired a Super Bowl commercial special that is an annual event and it did alright, though it skewed old,
