On Monday night, Supergirl came back to Earth on CBS. It fell a big 4.1 million viewers and nine tenths in the demo from its series premiere but there are other factors to consider. Last week was one of the more hyped premiere events and it got to follow a 4.4 demo from The Big Bang Theory. This week, it had to self start at 8pm and couple that with the usual week two drop. I'm sure CBS would have liked it to hold on better but this is a show where week #3 probably matters more than week #2 given the vastly different circumstances between the first and second week. At 9pm, Scorpion was down two tenths in viewers and even in the demo from last week's 90 minute episode. NCIS: Los Angeles closed out the night down four tenths in viewers and even in the demo from its last airing two weeks ago. On ABC, Dancing with the Stars was up two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo while a CMA Awards special with Robin Roberts was mostly ignored at 10pm and skewed quite old.
NBC had a great night with The Voice up two tenths in viewers and the demo. This is a time where it's usually dropping during a season so this was a positive development. It also helped Blindspot rise a tenth in viewers and the demo for its best showing in three weeks. NBC announced that it will preview new comedies Superstore and Telenovela after The Voice in a couple weeks once Blindspot completes its fall run. Finally on FOX, Gotham is not having any bad effects from Supergirl as it was even in viewers and up a tenth in the demo for its best demo showing since September 28. At 9pm, Minority Report was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo.
WINNER OF THE NIGHT: The Voice (NBC)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Minority Report (FOX)
