FOX announced today that it has renewed Sleepy Hollow for an 18 episode third season. The show was a fresh, out of the gate hit in its first year (which was only a 13 episode fall season). It got an early renewal for season two, but hit a wall in the ratings this year (as well as creatively from what I hear). FOX was non-committal about the show in its winter TCA press tour which led me to think its chances were diminishing. But they got a new showrunner in Clifton Campbell and will try again. I think this is an irreversible decline, but I guess we'll see.
Sleepy Hollow joins Bob's Burgers, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Empire, Gotham, and Masterchef Junior as renewals for next year. Sure to join them are American Idol, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and New Girl. I'd say it's a pretty good bet that Bones, Hell's Kitchen, The Mindy Project, maybe World's Funniest Fails, and probably The Last Man on Earth join that list, while it's looking dicey for The Following and not looking good for Backstrom.
