Weeks after most other returning CBS series got the official words, CBS has finally renewed
Criminal Minds for a ninth season on the heels of tense contract negotiations. With most of its stars with contracts up - Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness, and AJ Cook - CBS couldn't renew
Minds with its big wave of other renewals. Even last week, it looked iffy because Vangsness and Cook were demanding more money and pay more equal to their male co-stars. But they all signed and the crime drama will be back.
With this renewal, the only shows that haven't gotten the official word are all likely cancellations:
CSI: NY, Golden Boy, Rules of Engagement, and
Vegas. CBS is usually the last show to pick up its freshmen so I wouldn't expect it until early next week.
