As the schedules start coming out, CBS has picked up two more series - comedy Friends with Better Lives and drama Reckless. These join six series that were ordered and CBS may not be done yet as they have picked up a lot more shows than normal.
Friends with Better Lives is a new multi-camera sitcom about a group of thirtysomething friends who all envy the lives of their friends. James Van Der Beek leads a strong cast that also includes Zoe Lister, Brooklyn Decker, Rick Donald, Kevin Connolly, and Majandra Delfino. The show seems like a perfect fit with How I Met Your Mother, will it get the Monday 8:30pm slot?
Reckless is a new drama set in Charleston, South Carolina and is about a litigator and attorney that begin a steamy affair in the midst of a police sex scandal. The show stars Cam Gidandet, Anna Wood, Shawn Hatosy, Gregory Harrison, Adam Rodriguez, Kim Wayans, and Georgina Haig. CBS has only ordered three dramas so far but they seem a little more like ABC type shows - a big event show, a sci-fi drama, and a soapy drama. We'll see if any others are added to the list before CBS' upfront on Wednesday.
