Well the Super Bowl was a dud of a game thanks to complete domination from the Seahawks, but the high profile matchup in New York/New Jersey still set a record for all time viewership for the Super Bowl (and TV in general). It topped the 2011 Super Bowl between the Packers and Steelers and was up a healthy 3.5 million viewers from last year's game though it was more front-loaded thanks to the blowout nature (proving that point, the post-game was down nearly 30 million viewers from last year). FOX's post-Super Bowl shows New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine did well. They obviously hit series highs but New Girl held on to the end of the game much better than Elementary did last year. It benefited from being aired much earlier, but it also had a significantly lower lead-in from the post-game show. All in all, it was a successful showing for the FOX comedies, but the question is, will it help these low-rated shows in their regular Tuesday slots?
