In an interesting day, NBC is making very early calls on renewals for next season. After the
Blindspot news from earlier today, NBC also renewed
Chicago Fire and
Chicago PD for next season ahead of the premiere of the third show in the Chicago franchise,
Chicago Med, next week. While these were slam dunk renewals for NBC, it's still surprising the official decision was made this early. Next season will be the fifth for
Fire and the fourth for
PD.
