On Tuesday night, a David Blaine special on ABC elevated them and hurt the competition. But first at 8pm, a Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that was a crossover with the new Thor movie helped the series rise for the first time ever. It was up two tenths in viewers and the demo. At 9pm, The Goldbergs was down a tenth in viewers and the demo, once again proving it has a completely different audience than its lead-in. The David Blaine special at 10pm was a huge improvement for the 9:30-11pm slot than anything ABC has aired there all season. Everything was close to normal levels for CBS. At 8pm, NCIS was up three tenths in viewers and even in the demo. At 9pm, NCIS: Los Angeles was up a tenth in viewers and the demo. At 10pm, Person of Interest was down three tenths in viewers but even in the demo.

Over on NBC, The Biggest Loser started things off up two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. At 9pm, The Voice was up a tenth in viewers but down two tenths in the demo for a Tuesday low. At 10pm, Chicago Fire was down two tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo. It may have been hurt by the lead-in being down and the competing David Blaine special but it also doesn't seem to really be using The Voice lead-in as well as it could be. On FOX, the 8pm hour was up as Dads was even in viewers and up a tenth in the demo while Brooklyn Nine-Nine was up a tenth in viewers and the demo. At 9pm, New Girl was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. It's barely stronger than the 8pm hour and it was edged in total viewers by Brooklyn. At 9:30pm, The Mindy Project was down three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo to a terrible series low. FOX announced that Mindy will have a spring hiatus and Brooklyn will move to 9:30pm when Glee returns to Tuesdays in February.
