Thursday night had the season finale of The X Factor. It was up a nice 1.3 million viewers and half a demo point from last week and posted its best Thursday demo since October. However, the finale demos were a 3.1 last year and a 3.8 in 2011 so this is massive erosion. I'm not sure if this show is profitable for FOX or not but it continues to seem like a bust and each year is getting work. Simon Cowell is convinced it'll be renewed but we'll see. On ABC, the second airing of A Charlie Brown Christmas did almost as well as the first airing this year while The Year did OK from 9-11pm. NBC saw The Sing-Off drop a tenth in the demo against the finale of The X Factor. The second airing of SNL Christmas this season did well as these SNL specials do well for NBC in primetime.
