ABC was all new on Monday night with its regular lineup after a week off for the 4th of July. The Bachelorette was down two tenths in viewers and even in the demo from its last new airing while Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition was down eight tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo, which is somewhat a surprising drop since the lead-in held steady. Elsewhere, the series finale of the cancelled Law & Order: LA was down 1.6 million viewers and four tenths in the demo. Maybe between this and The Event as well as FlashForward last year, networks will learn that long hiatuses for struggling shows will not work. Finally, FOX's MasterChef was even in viewers and up two tenths in the demo from its last new Monday episode for a season high in the demo.
