On Friday night, it was a drop but another good week for MacGyver. CBS's surprising new Friday hit dropped an acceptable 1.8 million viewers and four tenths in the demo. This is a show that could have gotten a huge tune-out for week two but it didn't so that's a good sign. At 9pm, Hawaii Five-0 was down half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo while Blue Bloods held very steady, dropping just a tenth in viewers and staying even in the demo. On NBC, Dateline NBC was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. I'm a little surprised NBC isn't putting more effort into Fridays this fall with their other four nights fairly solid and Sundays having football.

On ABC, Last Man Standing was down two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Dr. Ken followed and was down a tenth in viewers and the demo for a new series low. These Friday sitcoms are getting no traction for ABC this year. At 9pm, Shark Tank was even with last week's low premiere. At least it didn't drop like the comedies. At 10pm, 20/20 was up half a million viewers and two tenths in the demo. Finally on FOX, Hell's Kitchen was down a tenth in viewers and the demo but the news was not good for week two of The Exorcist, which fell nine tenths in viewers and four tenths in the demo to a horrible 0.6 demo. If last week was mildly acceptable, this was not and this is a show that's going to probably wither on Fridays for half a season and then disappear.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Blue Bloods (CBS)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: The Exorcist (FOX)
