On Monday night, Game 5 of the NBA Finals dominated the programming as the close game delivered a powerful 20.5 million viewers and 7.6 demo. On CBS, the new drama BrainDead was mostly ignored. It had a passable 4.6 million viewers but a terrible 0.7 demo. Oh well, it's just a summer show. On NBC, American Ninja Warrior had its time period premiere with a very solid 1.9 demo especially considering it was facing basketball. It helped the series premiere of Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge to a decent 1.5 demo. All in all, this looks to be a decent Monday lineup for NBC. Finally on FOX, So You Think You Can Dance was down six tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo while Houdini & Doyle was down eight tenths in viewers and four tenths in the demo to series lows.
