GOOD WEEK/BAD WEEK: 2012-13 Week 7

GOOD WEEK: WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
It has been a rough fall for broadcast networks as the networks started out down big year to year and then regularly dropped from there. But nearly everything was up on Wednesday night this week. Some of that might be due to it being Halloween last week but some shows were up even from the week before as ABC's 8pm comedies had their best numbers since the premieres, Suburgatory had a season high, and Chicago Fire had a series high. A special airing of NBC's The Voice helped their network but it will be interesting to see how things go for them in the 8pm hour this week when Whitney joins the lineup.

BAD WEEK: "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER"
I was tempted to say Republicans this week, but I went with CBS's lead-off show on their troubled Monday lineup. This week, How I Met Your Mother dipped to a 2.8 demo which is their lowest number since May 9, 2011. This entire lineup, which was so powerful last season, is faltering badly and it will get worse if Mother can't be a competitive lead-in during the hour. I'm not really sure what CBS can do with this night. I wouldn't move Two and a Half Men back but it seems like they need to do something and their bench is thin.
