We are getting close to upfronts which means we'll start seeing cancellations and pickups soon. The first one came down tonight with FOX cancelling bubble drama Almost Human. The show got off to a strong start airing after football for one Sunday but then it was up and down on Mondays. At first it appeared to be a much weaker option that damaged the Bones/Sleepy Hollow combo that had previously been airing on the night. Then it started to perform a little better despite erratic scheduling. I thought FOX might give it another chance, especially since it fits into their half season model that so many dramas have, but that didn't happen.

Almost Human joins Raising Hope and The X Factor as official FOX cancellations with Rake and Enlisted sure to join them. Officially renewed are Bob's Burgers, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Bones, Family Guy, The Following, Glee, Masterchef Junior, The Mindy Project, New Girl, The Simpsons, and Sleepy Hollow. With American Idol, Hell's Kitchen, and Kitchen Nightmares sure to join that list, the only true bubble shows remaining are Dads and Surviving Jack. I guess it depends on what kind of direction FOX wants to go with its comedies.
