Tuesday night was a spectacular night for NBC with the grand return of summer's biggest hit, America's Got Talent. The long running show delivered 12.3 million viewers and a 2.7 demo, which was its best demo debut since 2014 and its best viewer total since 2011. Like The Bachelor, this show just seems immune to the trends on network TV. Perhaps even more exciting for NBC was the fact that the good news carried over to World of Dance, which premiered to a fantastic 2.4 demo. For comparison's sake, the only new shows that premiered stronger than a 2.4 demo this whole past season were 24: Legacy (immediately following the Super Bowl), This is Us, and Kevin Can Wait. On ABC, Downward Dog followed up its decent second week with a rough third week, dropping 1.9 million viewers and three tenths in the demo. Mixed in among repeats was the series finale of the cancelled Imaginary Mary, dropping to a series low. On CBS, 48 Hours: NCIS was down three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. On FOX, the finale (for now) of Prison Break was up four tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. Finally on the CW, iZombie was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo.
