The TV Summer season kicked off Thursday night with a quiet evening and FOX having the best night (!) The network premiered Beat Shazam and Love Connection to a decent 1.2 and 1.1 demo respectively. Just for comparison sake, the last time FOX did this well at Thursday 8pm was February 23 while the last time they got a 1.1 demo at 9pm Thursday was January 5. NBC had a trio of Red Nose Day themed events and did decently with Celebrity Ninja Warrior and Running Wild with Bear Grylls, but the Red Nose Day special itself was mostly ignored at 10pm. ABC and CBS only aired comedies except for 10pm on CBS, which had The Amazing Race. It was down three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo to a new series low.
