Wednesday night was the final night of the 2016-17 season and the networks headed into the summer with a mostly positive night. FOX started things off with the season finale of Shots Fired up half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo while Empire had a strong end to its season, rising eight tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo for its best result since the midseason premiere on March 22. CBS had the finale of the latest edition of Survivor. It was on par with the fall finale after a very steady season. On ABC, the critically panned update of Dirty Dancing actually did decently. Considering the fact that megabomb potential seemed to be there, this was a good showing. NBC had two episodes of Law & Order: SVU. The 9pm episode did the best numbers for the veteran drama since February and the 10pm episode was up a tenth in the demo from that. Finally on the CW, the season finale of Arrow was up three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo in its final new Wednesday airing. The season finale of The 100 was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo.
