After a week with no series premieres, there are several this week including two tonight, facing off in the 10pm slot. Conviction on ABC and Timeless on NBC both get to follow reality franchises. For Conviction, it airs in a slot that belonged to Castle for nearly a decade. If it can connect, it will get a good lead-in all year long between Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor. As for Timeless, it is airing in a slot where shows tend to have success. Neither show has gotten a ton of buzz, but they are both set up to succeed in their timeslot. My prediction is Timeless premieres better tonight because The Voice will be much stronger, but Conviction may have better long-term prospects. The two new dramas also have to face the second hour of a two hour premiere of Scorpion, which had a bit of a sophomore slump last year. Earlier in the night on CBS, Kevin Can Wait will try to have another great week after two strong weeks to start the season. FOX has Lucifer back in its Monday lineup after Gotham went solo leading into the debate last week.
