THE RUNDOWN: Wednesday, September 28

This is a very quiet week as far as premieres go with no series premieres and few season premieres but there are two tonight with the return of Criminal Minds, which has been in the news a lot this summer with cast comings and goings, and Code Black, which was a surprise renewal and brings in some new faces including Rob Lowe. The CBS dramas and NBC dramas face each other and tend to cause each a bit of pain though I could see Criminal Minds garnering some extra attention. Another big show to watch this week is week two of Designated Survivor, which seems like it could be a candidate for a bigger week two drop than some new shows. I think Speechless will hold up better nestled in the comedy lineup. FOX has week two of their best night of the week and it will be interesting to see how Lethal Weapon does after its promising start.
