RENEWAL ALERT: NCIS

CBS announced today that it struck a deal with star Mark Harmon and will renew NCIS for two more seasons, taking it through its 15th season in 2017-2018. This has been TV's most watched drama for many years and its renewal was never in doubt as it remains one of the few shows regularly posting over 10 million viewers in Live+Same Day ratings. It remains a big draw for the older crowd and has two successful spinoffs, NCIS: New Orleans and NCIS: Los Angeles. It will air its 300th episode in a couple weeks.

NCIS joins The Big Bang Theory as the only renewals for next season so far on CBS. Very likely to join them are the other two NCIS shows, Supergirl, Scorpion, Survivor, Criminal Minds, Mom, Life in Pieces, The Amazing Race, Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, 60 Minutes, Madam Secretary, and 2 Broke Girls. On the bubble is Limitless and it's not looking good for Code Black. This is the announced final season for The Good Wife and Mike & Molly.
