On Wednesday night, Survivor came back to CBS to very disappointing numbers. In a 90 minute premiere, it logged just a 1.9 demo, which is a near series low. This show tends to be pretty steady during the season and it could even rise next week, but this was an off start for the long-running franchise. Following a repeat of The Big Bang Theory, Code Black was down 1.1 million viewers and three tenths in the demo to a series low. The season finale is next week. ABC had another "meh" week with its comedies. At 8pm, The Middle was up four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. It was the only show that rose from last week. The Goldbergs was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. Modern Family was down three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo and Black-ish was down three tenths in viewers and even in the demo. At 10pm, American Crime was down a tenth in viewers and the demo, tying a series low.

On NBC, The Mysteries of Laura was down six tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. Without a crossover this week, both Law & Order: SVU and Chicago PD were down. SVU was up a tenth in viewers but down two tenths in the demo while PD was down eight tenths in viewers and four tenths in the demo. This show gets huge spikes for crossovers, but it still fits quite well with SVU.  Finally on FOX, American Idol was down nine tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo for a season low. It surely got hit a bit by Survivor. At 9pm, Hell's Kitchen was down four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: The Middle (ABC)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Code Black (CBS)
