Thanksgiving Eve meant big hits to younger skewing shows, as usual. The biggest hit came to Empire, which crashed 2.1 million viewers and 1.2 demo points. This really isn't as alarming as it sounds because it's reminiscent of the horrible drops Modern Family used to take when it aired new episodes on Thanksgiving Eve. In fact, the second worst demo of all time for Family remains Thanksgiving Eve 2009. Empire will surely bounce back next week for its fall finale. Earlier in the night, Rosewood was down a tenth in viewers and three tenths in the demo. On CBS, a two hour Survivor was down a million viewers and three tenths in the demo. It's a new series low, but again, it's Thanksgiving Eve. It has usually aired clip shows in the past on this night. The best news of the night came from Code Black, which took advantage of a better lead-in and was up nine tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo for its best numbers since the series premiere. This should get a chance to air at 9pm after Survivor at some point because this show actually seems to be getting some encouraging signs. It was only two tenths behind Supergirl and even with Limitless this week when it comes to the new CBS dramas.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Code Black (CBS)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: NONE (Thanksgiving Eve gives shows a pass)
