On Friday night, NBC premiered a new comedy and things were dire but it actually wasn't as disastrous as some predicted. First up, Undateable was up six tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo from last week's disappointing premiere. This helps a little bit but it still needs to do much better. At 8:30pm, Truth Be Told was easily the weakest premiere of any new show with a miniscule 2.6 million viewers and 0.7 demo. Yes, this is horrible, and there's no way it survives even a full season. However, some thought this might debut so low, perhaps in the 0.4 or 0.5 demo range, that it might be a one and done show. With this premiere, it may have bought itself a couple weeks. But still, it's a 0.7 demo. It's going to be quickly forgotten. At 9pm, Dateline NBC was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo.

Over on ABC, there continued to be good news in the 8pm where Last Man Standing was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo, and Dr. Ken were up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. Hard as it is to believe, these two shows tied The Muppets and were above several ABC dramas. I think we'll be getting a full season order for Dr. Ken within the next week or two. The problem was at 9pm, however, where Shark Tank was up a tenth in viewers and down a tenth in the demo. This show is falling fast this fall after years of being Friday's top draw. At 10pm, 20/20 was up seven tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo despite the weaker lead-in. Finally on CBS there were 1.1 demos across the board, The Amazing Race was even with last week. Hawaii Five-0 was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo, while Blue Bloods was down a tenth in viewers and two tenths in the demo.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Last Man Standing (ABC)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Truth Be Told (NBC)
